Fentanyl: The Deadly Drug Taking Lives Across the Nation
In just one year, 2021, over 70,000 Americans died from fentanyl overdose. This represents 15,000 more deaths than all of the soldiers who lost their lives during the twenty years of the Vietnam War.
Those left behind to mourn the loss of their loved ones often find their grief complicated by stigma and misunderstanding: both around Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) itself, and around the profound impact this scourge has had on some of our countries' most vulnerable populations.
The Fentanyl Freedom Foundation's long-term goal is the total eradication of this deadly drug from our communities. In the short-term we seek to support the families and loved ones of those who have lost someone to the scourge of fentanyl: helping those without sufficient means with burial and/or cremation costs.
